Nomenclature of different positions

I have seen that Pokertracker use this system of nomenclature :

EP EP MP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 10 max table)
EP EP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 9 max table)
EP EP MP MP LP LP SB BB ( 8 max table)
EP MP MP LP LP SB BB (7 max table)
EP MP LP LP SB BB (6 max table)
EP LP LP SB BB(5 max table)
EP LP SB BB ( 4 max table)
LP SB BB (3max table)
SB BB (2 max table)

Why not substract simply the lasts X positions to consider a (N - X) max table instead of N max if X players are sit out or if in a tournament in late stage X players be eliminated as below ?

EP EP MP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 10 max table)
EP MP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 9 max table)
MP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 8 max table)
MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 7 max table)
MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 6 max table)
LP LP LP SB BB ( 5 max table)
LP LP SB BB ( 4 max table)
LP SB BB ( 3 max table)
SB BB ( 2 max table)
Exemple : We are in tournament in a 10 max table. After 5 minutes 4 players be eliminated. Then we can now consider this table as an 6 max table. Then we can substract the four last positions :

EP EP MP MP MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 10 max table)

new nomenclature :
MP LP LP LP SB BB ( 6 max table)
instead of :
EP MP LP LP SB BB (6 max table)

It would be more useful because we won't need to create a specitif HUD / number of players.

Ok it's better between 10max and 9max but the same problem starts between 9max and 8max :
9max : EP EP MP MP MP CO BTN SB BB
8 max : EP EP MP MP CO BTN SB BB

My suggestion for
8 max : EP MP MP MP CO BTN SB BB
7 max : MP MP MP CO BTN SB BB
6 max : MP MP CO BTN SB BB
5 max : MP CO BTN SB BB
4 max : CO BTN SB BB
3 max : BTN SB BB
2 max : SB BB
Why subtract the last MP position instead of the last EP as my suggestion?

That particular change was discussed at length but ultimately this was the decision that was made.
