HELP: Please rewrite importing code engine for PT4 !

Hi !

I have imported some hands into HM1 and they were imported very fast, like 15 or 25 minutes.
I have imported exactly the same hands into PT4 and it takes HOURS !!!
I thought it is because the note tracker which needs to take notes while importing hands. So I stopped it and disabled all note definitions. The problem is the same. For the same hands PT4 needs HOURS to complete the import. Why ? Why it is so slow comparatively to HoldemManager 1 ?
I tried the same thing on HoldemManager 2 and it is even faster than HM1.
So, could you fix that please ?
I need to import a few thousands. But I am gonna import 5 millions. What should I expect for this ? 5 years to be done ?

Are these exported hands or played hands? Are the cash game hands or tournament hands? What site were they played at? What speed (in h/sec) are you getting on your import?

1. Cash hands. Over 5 millions from iPoker. Played hands, not exported. .xml format type of the file.
2. Cash hands. Over 1 million from PokerStars. Played hands, not exported. .txt format typ of the file.
3. Importing speed: 18 h/s on those from PokerStars and 10 h/s and even sometimes 6 h/s on thos from iPoker.

On those from iPoker didn't make yet a picture but I could make one if you really want to.

For importing PokerStars hands it needs ~24 hours. Reasonable, I think.
For importing iPoker hands it needs over 600 hours. I mean, serious man, too much time.

And the speed is really very slow. On HM it imports somewhere between 50 h/s, 100 h/s and even 115 h/s.
Huge difference !
You really should rewrite this importing engine.

Go into Configure -> Sites & Import Options and onto the Preferences page.

Turn OFF Automatically Apply 'Treat As' and try that iPoker import again and let me know what speeds you see.

It is between 20 h/s and 25 h/s.

But, again, look at the importing speed on HoldemManager1:

It is a huge difference.

On HM2 it is even more and more faster for PokerStars and for iPoker also.

You can't compare our import in hands per second and theirs - we do things so differently it's simply not comparing apples to apples.

Turning that setting off improved your iPoker import speed considerably though - from your own reporting it's about four times faster.

I start imported that low speed hands from iPoker on HM1.

You say to not compare one to another but why you do not want to focus on importing speed also ?
I think it is very important too and some improvements here will be in the right way.

The headline hands per second figure can be misleading - PT4 is doing housekeeping and calculating equities etc during the import so our headline speed appears slower. You need to look at the overall real time it takes.
However, you also need to consider the issues that Kraada hinted at - check out this post which explains some of the differences between the way that the HM and PT imports work.
