Skip non-hero actions in replayer?

Postby lumst » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:14 pm

HI!
Is there now a possibility to quickly skip all non-hero actions in replayer?

As a demonstration, let's consider a hand. Currently, for this hand, replayer shows 15 pictures.
However, for some use-cases, most of them brings no useful info, only four of them are enough.

1) clicking "Forward one step" 6 times, reviewer could see - preflop config, which hero faced

2) clicking "Forward one step" once - hero's action

3) clicking "Forward one step" 6 times - showdown

4) clicking "Forward one step" once - end of the hand

For the use-case its enough to see only four pictures out of 15 shown, isn't it? ;)

Could you please create some feature (new button/option/both, etc..) that would ease the following use-case:

Code: Select all
Briefly replay a tourney, paying attention only to hero's actions, how it appears during multitable play:

1) At tourney's hand list, choose "Replay All Hands in Report"
2) See initial config of first hand, quickly press "Forward one step" several times until its hero's turn.
3) Press "Forward one step" once to see actual action taken,
4) if game continues, goto step 2)
5) click "Next Hand" icon (or press CTRL+RightArrow), goto step 2)

Actually, Its so boring to press button "Forward" several times at step 2).
1) Its more desirable to click once a new button, named, say, "Forward steps up to Hero".
Or press a hotkey for it, say, CTRL+SHIFT+RightArrow, or whatever else...
Probably, its behavior would be best to be the following:
- if before non-hero's action -> forward steps, until one of <hero's action/showdown/end of the hand> is been encountered.
- if before hero's action -> step exactly one step, to show hero's action taken.

2) If added, the next feature would be: an option (in "Options" menu) to start replay a hand not from the very beginning, but from the moment of first hero's action. There will be no info loss: at this moment reviewer could clearly see, which was initial hands configuration, and all the previous villains' actions, and could step backwards, if he likes.

So, finally, use-case would be simplified to the following actions:
Code: Select all
1) At tourney's hand list, choose "Replay All Hands in Report"
2) See the configuration hero face at the moment of his action .
3) Press "Forward one step" once to see actual action taken.
4) if game continues, Press "Forward steps up to hero" and goto step 2)
5) click "Next Hand" icon (or press CTRL+RightArrow), goto step 2)

I agree that would be a good idea and I have reminded the development team of the request.
