Statistics editor

Windows standards, please. Except that Alt seems to work (if only for OK and Cancel), thanks.
I'd also like to copy a stat/column definition without having to make a duplicate, but that's a minor annoyance.

Which Windows standards are you referring to in particular?

Using Alt, Tab, arrows and hotkeys to select different items. In this editor Alt+O does OK which is better than in the Hud editor. However, say I edit a stat and have the focus in the "Name" field. I can tab my way to "Summary Type" but if I Tab too much, there's no way to Shift+Tab back, the focus is lost. Been a while since I've done much Windows programming but iirc it means your tab stops and groups aren't properly configured?

Basically, I should be able to access everything in this dialog to build a stat or a column without touching my mouse. The same goes basically for every window (starting from the main window) in PT4 (and PT3, I believe I've commented on this years ago).

We did put a good number of hotkeys into PT3 (press alt to see the options for the various tabs). I don't know the status of these sorts of things in PT4, but I'll see what I can find out for you.

You mean in the PT3 main window, when you press Alt it shows you what are the hotkeys to access the different tabs? That's a start but pretty far from any Windows apps I've used. There are lots of action buttons there with an actual underscored character in the name (like what usually appears in a menu when you Alt) but no way I know of to actually use those.
Many of the dialogs seem to be copied from PT3, i.e. most often basically unexisting keyboard interface.

I'd be willing to make a wager that in your customer base there is a larger than average percentage of people who have problems with their wrist due to excessive mouse usage.

Oh, is there a reason for the editor to be modal? It's extra bad when you can't save work in progress (i.e. a stat that doesn't validate).

I'm not certain what the reasoning is for that particular design choice and I'll try to find out for you.

Also for the record, I personally have had wrist problems over the years - after I switched to a split keyboard and a vertical mouse, I haven't had any more problems.

Any hope of getting the modality of the dialog away

At this point in time that seems extremely unlikely to me.
