val_p_2bet_size

Postby SS24 » Sat Feb 18, 2012 9:56 am

val_p_2bet_size
if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 2 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 1, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 2.5 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 2, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 3 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 3, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 4 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 4, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 5 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 5, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made <= 9 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 6, if[tourney_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_first_raise and tourney_hand_player_detail.amt_p_raise_made >= 9 * tourney_blinds.amt_bb, 7, 8]]]]]]]

Groups hands by absolute amout of the first raise the player made when raising preflop. Types are: 0 - No raise. 1 - 2 big blinds (a minraise). 2 - More than 2 but less than or equal to 2.5 big blinds. 3 - More than 2.5 but less than equal to 3 big blinds. 4 - More than 3 but less than equal to 4 big blinds. 5 - More than 4 but less than equal to 5 big blinds. 6 - More than 5 but less than equal to 6 big blinds. 7 - More than 6 big blinds but less than equal to 9 big blinds. 8 - More than 9 big blinds.

It seems to me, the formula not absolutely correct, and the description mismatches the formula.

I apologise for my English.
Yours faithfully Sergey.

It does look like there is a case missing from that expression - I will report this to the development team to be fixed.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

1. Is this fixed now?

2. How do I use it to check for "minraise"? Is this correct: val_p_2bet_size = 1 OR val_p_2bet_size = 2 ?

This was fixed quite a while ago I believe. For a minraise you would want 1 (as it says in the description of the column). It is also possible to get raises smaller than the minimum in cases where someone shoves for their entire stack but it's less than one big blind extra.

No I want sizes < 3bb
AND that the minraise came form Villian and not player.

in PT3 I worked like this:

cash_hand_player_statistics.amt_f_raise_facing = 2 * cash_hand_player_statistics.amt_f_bet_made)

how do I translate it for pt4?
Is there a face 2bet exp?

maybe:

cash_hand_player_statistics.amt_p_2bet_facing < 3 * amout bb

right?

A raise to 3BB is not a minraise. A minraise is a raise to the minimum - which is always 2BB by definition.

I'm really not sure what you're trying to do here or why you're calling it a minraise.

WTH why is it the "to call" sum?

cash_hand_player_statistics.amt_p_2bet_facing = 3 * amt_bb

The big blind is always one big blind. The minimum to raise is one more big blind - thus making a total raise of 2 big blinds. It can be less to call for some people though (like the SB who only has to call 1.5 big blinds) hence the <=. But there is no case in normal modern poker where the minimum amount you can raise is to 3 big blinds (I guess with a straddle you can get to 4 but I don't know of any site using straddles).

no I meant:

cash_hand_player_statistics.amt_p_2bet_facing

== "the amount the other person has to call"

example1: BU openraises 3bb then the BB has to call 2bb the SB hast to call 2,5bb
example2: CO openraises 3bb then the BU has to call 3bb ...

means: depending on the position (in blinds or not) the amt_p_2bet_facing differs. Thats bad for coding a general stat. I always have to make a 2 blind version of this stat and not in blinds version.
