How does PT4 is detecting players name in HUD

Does anyone know how PT4 detecting the players names before HH is saved? It does update the HUD stats instantly. It looks like it is decoding the names directly from the screen. Would you agree? Is it reliable? can it confuse 0(zero) and O or 1 and l ? Any opinion?

On what poker site is this? What gametype? If that's on regular PokerStars tables a limited number of observed hands can be imported via the Memory Grabber which allows the HUD to populate before your first played hand. If you don't want that you can go to 'Configure -> Sites & Import Options -> PokerStars' and turn off the 'Enable Memory Grabber' option. If you are referring to Zoom tables on PokerStars then there is a separate seating file which is present so PokerTracker 4 can identify the players at the table when a new Zoom hand starts.
