having trouble installing Postgresql on my new laptop

Postby themightyjim2k » Mon Mar 10, 2008 12:12 pm

I'm getting the following error right at the beginning of the install:

[ip3y]installer has detected incompatible version of OpenSSL installed in your system PATH. PostgreSQL requires OpenSSL 0.9.7 or later. If you remove your OpenSSL files (LIBEAY32.DLL and SSLEAY32.DLL) the installer will install the new version automatically.[/ip3y]

I can actually go through the installation process after this and it seems as though I'm getting it installed, but I'm not sure whether or not it is actually working (some way I can check this out through PT?).

any thoughts? suggestions? feelings? I have a huge Postgresql DB on my desktop that I'm going to bring over, but I need to get a new reg code for PTer and get PostgreSQL up and running first.

thanks for the help!
