FullTilt Import hangs up

When I try to import hands from FullTilt (manually or by timer)
then comes the normal message
Starting import, 1 files found...
User manually triggered import...09/01/2009 04:50:57 AM
but then it doesn't finish.
There does NOT come a message
x hand imported
and no hands get imported.
When I try Force Import again, I get
An import is already running, cannot import now...

and other Auto-Import Windows (for Other Poker Sites) also get
An import is already running, cannot import now...

Import for Other Poker Sites works when I don't try to import from FullTilt.

So the FullTilt Import seems to hang up.
I enabled logging but only got:
******************************

I use
    Poker Tracker V2 Version 2.17.04g
    Windows XP

Thanks for Help

If it does this for you then you need to install this old patch...
http://s217900936.onlinehome.us/patch21703b.exe

And then use this workaround to import the FT files...

What?
Install a much earlier version/patch after all the FullTilt (and other) problems had resolved?

Do you have any idea what the problem is?
On my side or in PT?

The 2.17.04g patch had already worked before reinstallation (because harddisk crash and change).
One big difference this time is that now I directly installed the 2.17.04g full version from the download page,
whereas before I had updated patch after patch to come to version 2.17.04g.
I would really not like to downgrade to a much older version when all the other sites (other than FullTilt) work fine.

Would it make sense or at least no harm when I install the PATCH 2.17.04g (although my PT2 version is already 2.17.04g) ?

One thing looks strange to me in the log file I posted above:
Observed Settings: ptrack2 PTRACK3 0 0 1 3

Why PTRACK3 ? Is that alright?

If it's hanging on you then it's hanging during the call to the DLL that was created for the "G" patch that converts the Unicode files to ANSI files so PT2 can read them. You can try to install the patch as well but I doubt it will make any difference, the files are the same.

There have been maybe 5 users with this problem and I don't know what causes it. The only option right now is to go back to an earlier version where the only difference is it doesn't use that DLL and use the workaround described on the link I gave you....either that or upgrade to PT3.

Why PTRACK3 ? Is that alright?

Because that's the name of your database file, your third PT2 database, it has nothing to do with PT3.

I'm running Windows XP with SP2 and have the same problem as a few of the other users in that the conversion program, ft_hh, fails to initialize. And, I was unable to locate the html file that documented ft_hh on the file sharing service.

I converted the files manually, by rewriting them as ANSI text files using Notepad. You should also be able to use Word. Just select ANSI for "Encoding" at the bottom of the window, plain text if you are using Word of Wordpad. After the text encoding was changed from Unicode to ASCII, I was able to import the files successfully.

I may try to write a simple conversion routine if I can get a C compiler to work correctly in my environment.

Hi Pat and Barefoot,
for me the problem was resolved after I upgraded my Flash which after Windows XP reinstallation was on a very old version 6.x .
After I upgraded Flash to a current version (10.x when I remember correctly) the PT2 import for FullTilt worked fine!
Maybe its worth a try for you too.
