importing problems 2.17.01g

Postby bigvb » Thu Mar 27, 2008 11:45 am

so im trying to import a ton of datamined hands, during the loooong importing process a error window appears like every 2 mins (along with that dull windows thud sound). ive uploaded screenshot.

I repaired my db after importing last bunch and it seemed fine until about an hour into importing. I also dont get this problem when importing small
amounts of hands.

the most annoying thing about it is that the importing process is paused when the error message appears, i left computer on all night to import all the hands it its done almost none because error message came up (prob just after i went to sleep)

(btw wtf do i always have to login twice to post on pt forums)

it imported like 2000 of 300,000 hands and says goto error messages to see errors but there are no error messages there.

See this FAQ #2

If you have that many hands then you should convert to PostgreSQL because the database is probably full.

Access has a 2gb file size limit which is around 220,000 hands, more if you play short-handed.

PostgreSQL has no file size limit at all. PT3 will use only PostgreSQL so there isn't going to be issues of db's getting full anymore...unless you run out of hard disk space.

ok and finally are there any security issues with postgres, my pw is like super simple and username is obvious, postgreSQL is not a nice loophole for hackers is it?
