Today I had an insightfull thought.Because I'm going to be regulary playing on two diffrent computers and It's going to be a pain exporting/importing hands to and from each system to keep each system up to date is this possible(think it is just wanted to check)

Basically buy an external hardrive and keep PAHUD,PT,FPHG on it.This way say if a poker player wanted to go traveling or wanted to take the hassle out of syncING machines etc etc it would be much easier

The only significant problem with this idea is the data transfer speed from the external drive to your computer is going to be your bottleneck when it comes to do the database and that might well slow things down significantly. I don't know of anybody who has tried this (at least I haven't heard their report if they have), so it may be okay depending on what sort of external drive you have (USB 1 would certainly not work), but I wouldn't expect great performance just because the amount of data that goes back and forth is fairly large and is pretty much the bottleneck on a normal machine with PT3 on an internal hard drive . . .

ETA: And then I realized I'm in the PTv2 forum. It will likely work a lot better with PTv2 and PAHUD than it would with PT3. PT3's database is much larger and more complex. With PT2's database this will much more likely work without too much trouble.

You can't install PT2 on an external drive, it needs to be installed on the computer it's being used on. You can have the database files reside on the external drive, but not the program files.

Couldn't I just change the directorys on a new install?

Also I see the above point about it being a fair bit slower,perhaps even on PTv2

Pat, will this work with PostgreSQL or is it only for Access dbs?
