backup problems on Vista

Hi there,

I'm moving my Poker Tracker 2 databases to a new machine which runs Vista. So far, I have 4 databases which I want to move and I have created backups of them as described in the FAQ. The restore of the 3 databases which contain data mining hands for 3 different limits can all be restored and I can see all players and sessions, but my personal database (which is the smallest one) does not show anything.

What I've checked and tried so far:
- backup again into different file, deleted and restored database on new computer: still no sessions available
- verified that no filters are set
- no sessions available when going to Utilities/Database Maintenance and Options for the database (but for other databases when selecting them!)
- looked into the database itself and there are a lot of entries in game, game_players, sessions etc.
- file "ptpgrdump.txt" shows no errors

Old system settings:
- Windows XP Professional SP2
- PostgreSQL 8.2.3
- Pokertracker V2.17.01g

New system settings:
- Windows Vista Ultimate (no service pack installed yet)
- PostgreSQL 8.2.6
- Pokertracker V2.17.01g

Only difference I see here is the PostgreSQL version - as I am also using PokerTracker 3 beta, I installed the lates 8.2 version (not the 8.3 which is said to give problems) on the new system.

Any ideas about this issue?

Lio

Do you see data from other players on the stats window or when you look at the Utilities > Database Maintenance and Options window?

What is the size of the .backup file that you used to restore this database?

It is 76.275.473 Bytes.

Could it be that there is some strange nickname in the DB that causes this? I have seen some weird ones on PokerStars using various special characters.

I will PM you with directions on how to send that file to me so I can restore from it and look into this.
