A couple of observations:
1) With PT3 one can create a new table in the db and it will correctly display within PT3. But when one tries to create a "column" from the table (for later use in a custom variable or stat) PT3 returns an “invalid expression” notice.
2) There is not a way to transfer data records from an existing table to the new table from within PT3.

I am aware that messing with the db is not supported if one encounters bugs or other problems thereafter. But if there is a way to do (1) (i.e. get PT3 to recognize the new table as a valid table) and/or (2) I would appreciate knowing.

What would really be a great feature (perhaps for PT4) is to enable the live_table_history function to operate on all stat (including custom stats) and extend its “look back” range from 10 to say 20 to 30 hands. Such would eliminate any need for 1 & 2 above.

Where I would recommend going with all this is to detect any table trends (or change in trends) for the live table. A poker game is a stochastic process. One can do trend analysis off-line and observe interesting/useful trends. These trends can be used as another parameter (along with the existing stats) to assess play. In addition a trendline capability would also be a plus (say moving average, log, etc.), with access to the trendline equation.

Another possibility would be to enable PokerTracker to automatically write a user defineable ouput stream for real time input into mathematica 8. Then the user could manipulate the data as desired without messing with PT or the db.

Adding new inormation to the database can cause problems with imports and other functionality. Making the whole database structure configurable (or even just accepting manual changes) would be a considerable amount of work.

It may be possible to extend the live stats funtionality a little, but again making that fully configurable for any stat would be a considerably bigger project. This is a different mechanism to normal stats and we have to add the available elements manually.
