Fold Preflop VS Preflop Fold %

Postby AKQJT » Mon Nov 07, 2011 8:06 pm

What is the difference between "Fold Preflop" VS "Preflop Fold %" in HUD stats? I suppose one has to do with a player folding immediately, while the other has to do with folding after calling, or raising?

I've noticed various other stats which have very similar names as well (like "times" and "hands"), but assume they are not duplicates and track different things? Thanks.

"Fold Preflop" is the percentage of a player's preflop actions which were folds, whereas "Preflop Fold %" is the percentage of hands which were folded preflop.

An example:
If you limp (call) preflop and then fold to a raise you made 2 preflop actions - one call and one fold.
Fold Preflop = 50% (1/2)
Preflop Fold % = 100% (1/1)

We realize that these similar names are a little confusing but they were introduced to allow us to reproduce things like the "Details" report which PT2 users requested when PT3 was released. We're trying to avoid this kind of thing as we build the stats for PT4.

For reference, you can see exactly how all of the stats are built in the Configure > Configure Stats window.
