Filtering tourney hands by buyin in a report

I want to make a filter for some tourney hand reports by a certain buyin. I can't do this with a simple filter. Can i create a column for every hand which shows the buyin for the corresponding tourney?

Yes. Click Configure --> Stats, choose the Tourney Holdem Hand section, add a new column: amt_buyin with definition: tourney_holdem_summary.amt_buyin then create a new stat that uses that column (you probably want the format expression to be format_money(amt_buyin, true), don't forget to give it a header and whatnot.

Then you can use that stat as any other for filtering reports and display it on any other PT3 hands report. Note though this is just the amount of the buyin, not the amount of the buyin plus the rake. So for a 24+2 this would be 24, not 26. You could add tourney_holdem_summary.amt_rake if you wanted it to be 26, though.

Thank you. I didn't know it was this easy... I thought i had to lookup the hand-nr. somehow in the tourney tab... Whatever. What do you mean by "whatnot"? At first, i just want the column for a filter, so i don't even need a stat... (i think). But it would be nice to know, so i don't have to ask the next time... :)

Oh, if you're just using it for a filter like that you're right you don't need a stat. If you wanted to create a stat for display in a report in PT3 you'd need to do more than just build a column you'd also need to build a stat on the Stats tab, and for people who are just starting out building stats it's very easy to forget to fill in the Format tab (with a title, width, etc. which is what I meant by "whatnot" :).

Err.. It seems i haven't expressed what i really wanted to do very well. I wanted to filter holdem tourney player statistics by a certain toruney buyin (not single hands...) In other words, i would like to reduce the set of hands against which the player statistics run, similar to what the built-in filters (simple filters) do... Is there any chance to do that?

Or, otherwise, why can't we filter by tournament buyins, anyway? That would be one of the most sense-making filters one could think of... :|

There are several different places in which you can filter results.

If you want to filter all of the data shown in the main PT3 window for a given player -- for example, you want to see only hands you've played in 69+6 tournaments -- you click Filters at the top right, and on the General tab Buyins is listed on the right. Check the box to the left of the text for whichever buyin you want (in this case, $69), then click 'OK' and PT3 will only display results from $69 buyin tournaments.

If you wanted to run a custom report over all players for $69 tournaments, you click Filters on the left, then click Simple Filters and check the buyin again just like above and the custom report will only run over tournaments with the buyin you specify.

If you want to see HUD stats only for $69 tournaments, you'd need to create custom stats for that limit. I will make a suggestion though to add to the Hud Options tab a "Show stats from tournaments with the same buyin as this tournament" option, as I can see that being a very useful filter.

Since there are so many ways to filter data, I wasn't sure exactly what you were going for.

OK, i see i can be pretty dense sometimes. Thats want i wanted to do. To my excuse, its somehow strange this filter isn't in the "tournament" section, where is the only place i looked for it. Thanks anyway for the enlightment. Yes, this HUD option would be very useful, of course.
