First Statistic-Need a double check

Postby Mohow » Wed Aug 20, 2008 4:25 pm

I'm a headsup limit cash game player and am interested in my HUD to display a statistic on the % of time my opponent open folds his small blind. I think I've had success but have some questions.

Is it true that the hud can only display statistics from the "Holdem Cash Player Statistics" section of the database?
This seems to be the case but I want to double check.

I created a column in "Holdem Cash Player Statistics" section called cnt_sb_openfold_HU with an expression

sum(if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_fold AND holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_blind_s, 1, 0])

I then created a statistic in the same section called "Open Fold" with an expression of

cnt_sb_openfold_HU / cnt_sb * 100

and a format expression of
/%.2f
(I understand this creates a floating point expression of up to two decimals)

What is a floating point expression?

Finally, I've tested my statistic on my Stars HUD and it seems to be displaying accurately. Does anyone see errors in this statistic creation? Its my first try.

That looks pretty good!

You are correct that only 'holdem cash player statistics' stats can be shown on the HUD.

Your column..
sum(if[holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_p_fold AND holdem_hand_player_statistics.flg_blind_s, 1, 0])
.. is basically correct, but will include cases when they call or raise and then fold to a raise.
You may want to add checks for
holdem_hand_player_statistics.cnt_p_call=0 AND holdem_hand_player_statistics.cnt_p_raise=0
In fact, if you do that, you don't need to check for the flg_p_fold, because if they don't call or raise they must have folded.

Floating point numbers are decimals.

Oh yeah. Good point about the limp/fold, raise/fold scenario (which happens almost never). But limp/folding does happen and could skew the statistic. Nice solution by just saying didn't raise or call. Simplifies everything.

Once you've built a few stats you start to see these patterns... ;)
